Unlike traditional public service development, our approach involves designers in a collaborative process.
Our collaborative project design method focuses on the user through immersion, co-construction and prototyping to guarantee the desirability, feasibility, and viability of the project. We create public services in partnership with the user.
La Manufacture draws on the Banque des Territoires’s public design studio, Docaposte's UX/UI department and designers from design agencies and schools who share our values and contribute to our R&D efforts.
We collaborate with public policy experts and designers throughout the project. We mobilise resources from our parent companies, Docaposte and Caisse des Dépôts, to identify the best solutions for creating, deploying and developing digital public services.
Our support aims to ensure optimal adoption by involving all stakeholders, including staff and users.
La Manufacture mobilises all of Docaposte's solutions and the best of its digital technologies. We place agents and users at the heart of digital transformation to ensure an inclusive service. We understand the complexity and consider the ethics of a digital public service 'by design'.

Technologies are a means to an end, not an end in themselves. We believe that the starting point is the user and their actual needs, and we aim to find the best technology to meet them.
We develop the project with the user. Our designers' dedicated methods ensure that the public service is well thought out and implemented from start to finish.
The 5/95 Social Design Method creates devices designed for the 5% of the population who are most in need, in the belief that they improve the experience for the other 95%.
The Repair Method suggests ways to enhance services and tools by improving and revamping them, without adding to or reinventing them. It enables us to capitalise on existing products to interface them, make them interoperable and consolidate existing pathways.
We develop user acquisition strategies by including design as far upstream as possible, thereby maximising user appropriation and increasing flows.
