Remote identity verification : how it works

Remote identity verification in several steps:


  • Retrieving a valid identity document and checking its validity and authenticity,
  • Retrieving the user's image or a video selfie and checking that the user is the legitimate holder of the document,
  • Verifying that the user is real and that the video is not fake.
  • Processes allowing to retrieve and check complementary documents

Certified or non-certified journeys: what enforceability?

The pathway chosen will impact its enforceability level

  • Certified pathway

    • ANSSI certification
    • Delivery by qualified Remote Identity Verification Providers (PVID)
    • A 'substantial' level of eIDAS assurance, equivalent to a face-to-face physical identity check. The response is proof.
    • The final decision is made by a human operator

  • Non-certified pathway

    • Able to be entirely automated
    • The enforceability of the results depends on the checks carried out, files of consituted proof, the expertise of the service provider in terms of AI and system information security
